For over a century, Schneider, Smeltz, Ranney & LaFond has been engaged in the practice of law in Cleveland. We began practicing law in the 1860s when Cleveland was rising to industrial greatness (aerial view of city in 1917 pictured left). The history of our firm is as much the story of this city's ascent as it is of one law firm's presence at the creation of a new Cleveland, then and now.

 

Across all those years, our hallmark has always been personal service to individuals, families, businesses and the community. Many of our clients come from families we have advised for generations. We have been lawyers for members of the Rockefeller family, for Alexander Winton and his Winton cars, for Kent Smith, one of the founders of Lubrizol, for the Halles and their venerable department store, and for Leonard Case and the Case Institute of Technology which he founded.
